Oopbuy for UK buyers: the agent behind the spreadsheet
Who runs Oopbuy, why UK buyers use it, why this guide exists beside it, and how to judge any agent.
What is Oopbuy

Oopbuy is a shopping agent: it buys from Chinese marketplaces such as Taobao, 1688 and Weidian on your behalf, receives the goods at its warehouse in Xiamen, photographs them, stores them and ships them abroad on the line you choose. It also runs its own mall. The service is operated by Openbuy Technology HK Limited, company number 77213008. The Contact Us page it links today gives Causeway Bay; a Tuen Mun address survives only on an older notice.
The homepage strip lists five badges: safe payments, a quality-inspection badge (its numeric prefix is not repeated here), 24/7 support, 90-day free storage and a delivery guarantee. For UK planning the useful parts are the storage period and the public estimator; the others are better judged against the written rules than the strip.
Why use Oopbuy for a UK parcel
Start with what every agent does: buy, store, photograph, ship with outside carriers, and pass customs risk back to you. None of that is specific to Oopbuy.
What is specific, for a UK address: a public estimator that lists fifteen UK lines without an account, lines written for Highland, island and Northern Ireland postcodes, prices shown in pounds, and a detail panel per line with measured delivery shares. That last one is rarer than it should be.
When to look elsewhere: if your parcel is mostly liquids or creams, the three or five lines that take them may not suit you; if you need a firm delivery date, no agent's card can give you one; and if you prefer an agent with a long public track record, Oopbuy's own pages do not state a founding year.
Why use this spreadsheet alongside Oopbuy's own tools
The estimator answers one question at a time, for today, and does not ask where in the UK you live. This guide keeps dated readings across twelve weights, puts the five delivery clocks side by side, filters by postcode, and points out where Oopbuy's own pages disagree.
It also leaves unexplained labels unexplained. 'Triangle Shipping Line' and 'Tax free' are reported as labels, not translated into promises.
How to choose a trustworthy agent
Five checks we would run on any agent before a UK parcel. A named operator with a company number. A public line list for the UK with weight limits and item lists. Written rules on storage and claims with dates and deadlines. Contact routes that answer. And no promises about customs, because no agent can make one.
Oopbuy publishes an operator, an estimator and written help policies. Publication alone does not establish whether support will resolve your case or whether a route will accept your exact goods. Before a large order, ask a specific question about your parcel, read the applicable claim exclusions, and keep the written answer.
Other agents you will see mentioned
UK buyers will also come across Kakobuy, Superbuy, CSSBuy, Sugargoo and Hoobuy, among others. We do not rank them and we have not read their UK boards for this guide.
If you compare, compare the same things: whether a line takes your postcode, which lines carry batteries and perfume, who handles VAT above £135, and whether there is any measured delivery data or only a promised range. Total landed cost, not the line price on its own, is the figure to put side by side.
Community feedback and what shoppers say
Oopbuy runs a Discord server linked from its footer, which is where most parcel threads and announcements end up. There is also a subreddit, r/oopbuy, and the apps are listed on the App Store and Google Play.
A historical review-platform capture dated 10 October 2026 showed a notice about removed reviews and an unavailable rating. That is a dated observation, not a current score. Read recent detailed reports and the platform’s current notice for yourself; do not use a star number as a substitute for order evidence.
For UK lines specifically, the most useful community reports are the ones that name the line, the postcode area and the dispatch date. Anything less cannot be checked against the measured shares.
Compare agents with the same basket
Build one small comparison basket: the same seller links and variants, the same packed weight estimate, one destination postcode and the same restricted contents. Compare item cost, domestic postage, credited balance, payment fees, freight, packing, storage extensions and any tax handling separately.
Then check practical protection: what incoming inspection covers, whether measurements cost extra, when returns must be requested, which events insurance excludes and how to submit a claim. A cheap freight screen is not evidence of a cheaper delivered order.
Other agents such as Superbuy, CSSBuy, Sugargoo or Kakobuy may have different supported goods and services. This guide has not verified their current UK quotes or ranked them. If a specific item or deadline is unsupported, ask a candidate agent for written confirmation before sending it money.
Read community reports as individual cases
A useful Reddit, video or Discord report names the route, approximate packed weight, dispatch and arrival dates, and whether it includes waiting at the seller or warehouse. Compare several recent cases for the same destination. An unboxing without the order date cannot establish delivery speed.
Separate a sponsored review, referral promotion or reward submission from an unpaid experience. Look for both the initial problem and its resolution; one successful parcel does not establish future safety, and one delay does not establish the whole route’s average. Never share your address, full tracking label or payment screen in public.
Use the official community links on Oopbuy’s website to avoid copied invite links. Private account support is the right place for refunds and parcel-specific evidence.
