OopbuyFinds Spreadsheet UK buying guide

What an Oopbuy parcel to the UK costs

Item, seller postage, the international line, the declaration fee and UK VAT, with the pound readings from the estimator.

The fee structure, from Oopbuy's own page

Oopbuy's 'Service & Fees' page says there is no agent service fee. What you pay is the product cost, which includes the seller's postage inside China to the warehouse, plus the international shipping and a customs declaration fee that is generally ¥8.00 per parcel, depending on the shipping method. Value-added services such as extra photos or special packing are optional.

The registration agreement and service-fee page contain different fee wording. Do not assume that one silently overrides the other. Check the amount shown before payment and ask account support to explain any service charge; retain the answer with the payment record.

The exchange rate printed on the cards

Every route card is priced in yuan underneath, and the pound figure is a conversion. On 15 October 2026 every UK card at every weight we read converted at a ratio between 7.910 and 7.918 yuan to the pound: DDF-RoyalMail's ¥118.32 showed as £14.95, for instance.

That narrow band, the same across lines and weights, points to a fixed internal rate rather than a live market rate. We do not compare it with a bank rate here, because the rate you actually pay also depends on how you top up your Oopbuy balance, which is outside the scope of this guide.

This snapshot does not establish how often the internal exchange rate changes. Recheck the current credited balance and payment total before you top up; a GBP display and your bank’s actual debit can differ.

The coupon already in the price

Every UK card shows two prices: the list price struck through and a lower one with a coupon applied, plus the coupon's value. On 15 October 2026 at 1 kg, DDF-RoyalMail showed £14.95 struck through and £11.83 underneath, with 'Use coupon -£3.13'.

We read these with no account signed in, so the coupon is whatever was running publicly that day, and Oopbuy's event calendar showed a shipping coupon code ending on 31 October 2026. Prices on this site are the list price before coupon, because coupons end and the list price is the stable reference.

Your own account may show a different coupon, or none.

Shipping cost by weight on the main UK lines

UK line prices at half a kilo, one, two and five kilos
Seven UK lines at four weights, list price.

At half a kilo the cheapest few lines sit within about a pound of each other. By 5 kg the spread is wider: £56.58 on DDF-RoyalMail against £63.54 on S-Remote and £77.38 on HP-EMS. Price differences between neighbouring lines are smaller than the differences in delivery profile, which is why this guide leads with time rather than cost.

For battery parcels the cheapest line at 1 kg is ZD-Roymail at £16.87; for perfume under 100 ml it is ZX-RoyalMail at £18.08; for perfume to a remote postcode, ZXPY at £21.72.

Adding it up for a UK parcel

Budget for the item price, domestic postage, international freight, declaration charge and applicable tax. Oopbuy’s help describes VAT collection for some lower-value parcels; the route label alone does not prove your bill includes it. Check the invoice and destination rules, particularly for Northern Ireland, and retain the payment record.

Optional extras come on top: detailed photos, extra packing, insurance. None is required to ship to the UK.

Total landed cost is the only number worth comparing between agents. A low line price on one site and a low item price on another are not comparable until both include every part.

When the cheapest line is the wrong saving

At 1 kg, OopLine-P costs £15.25, thirty pence more than DDF-RoyalMail, and about 86% of its recent delivered parcels arrived within 15 days against about 96% on DDF. HF-EUB costs £20.91 and got about 57% home within 15 days. Paying less does not buy you time, and at the slow end it costs you some.

The other hidden cost is the label. HF-EUB and HP-EMS are the two lines that leave customs to you, so on a parcel that might be stopped the saving can be eaten by a bill or a missed delivery. Compare cost, profile and tax label together, and the cheap line is often the one you would have chosen anyway: DDF-RoyalMail, for a mainland postcode and soft goods.

Two payments, three currency figures

Payment one: buy the item

Confirm the seller price, size/colour, quantity and domestic shipping. Your card or payment provider may charge for currency conversion or processing. Check how many CNY are credited to the account, then how many are used for the order.

If an order is cancelled, confirm whether the refund is account balance or returned to the original payment method. Any later withdrawal, conversion or bank processing is a separate step.

Payment two: send the parcel

After QC and packing, review freight, declaration fees and selected extras. Estimated item weight is not the final packed or volumetric billing weight. A provisional freight payment may require reconciliation when the parcel is measured.

Compare the GBP bank debit, the CNY balance credited, and the CNY item or parcel charge. These are different figures; a zero agent service fee would not make exchange or payment fees zero.
